St. Louis Symphony Opens Harry Potter Film Concert Weekend at Powell Hall

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will perform John Williams’ score live as the film plays in high definition at Powell Hall.

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra opens a three-performance run of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert” at Powell Hall on Friday.

The film will be shown in high definition while the orchestra performs John Williams’ score live. Justin Freer is scheduled to conduct, according to the SLSO event listing.

Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m. A Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m. The orchestra lists the program’s running time as about three hours and 20 minutes, including intermission.

The concert is part of the SLSO’s 2026-27 season and pairs a full screening of the second film in the series with the score performed inside Powell Hall.
