ST. LOUIS — A plan can help you move forward without becoming a promise that every part of the day will go exactly as expected.
Sometimes a meeting runs late. A family responsibility needs attention. A task takes longer than you allowed. You can respond to that change without deciding that the whole day is lost.
This morning, look at what you intended to do and what is actually possible. Keep the responsibility that matters most in view. Then decide which remaining task can move, which can become smaller and which needs a conversation with someone else.
If a deadline affects another person, communicate the adjustment. A clear update gives both of you something useful to work with. You do not need an elaborate explanation to be honest about what you can finish.
Leave a little room between commitments when you can. That space can make it easier to handle a delay, gather what you need or arrive ready to listen. Every open minute does not need another assignment.
At the end of the day, notice what you carried through and what still needs attention. Use that information to make the next plan more realistic.
Today’s encouragement: You can stay committed to your purpose while changing the route. Give yourself permission to make a thoughtful adjustment, then take the next step.
