ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. — A woman wanted on felony drug charges was taken into custody Wednesday after St. Francois County deputies say an arrest warrant service led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl inside a Doe Run residence.
According to the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to the 1000 block of Lesh Drive around 11:45 a.m. September 16 to serve an arrest warrant on Briley Brackett.
Deputies confirmed Brackett was inside the residence and located her in a bedroom. Authorities said she was taken into custody without incident.
The warrant was issued for second degree drug trafficking, a Class B felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony. The sheriff’s office said Brackett’s bond was set at $150,000.
During the arrest, deputies said they observed what they described as a trafficking amount of multicolored capsules along with drug paraphernalia in plain view.
According to the sheriff’s office, preliminary testing of the substance inside the capsules indicated the presence of fentanyl.
Deputies seized the capsules and other items of evidentiary value. Authorities said the evidence will be submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory for official analysis.
Brackett remains incarcerated at the St. Francois County Adult Detention Center on the warrant.
The charges are allegations. Brackett is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
