ST. LOUIS — Three Illinois men have pleaded guilty in federal court in connection with a downtown St. Louis carjacking and a later pursuit into Illinois, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Davon McLorn, 32, of Madison County, pleaded guilty Tuesday to carjacking and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. Abduelah Jones, 28, of East St. Louis, and Kasey Richardson, 30, of Belleville, previously entered guilty pleas in the case.
The plea agreements say the men took a Nissan Sentra near Convention Plaza and North Seventh Street on Jan. 27, 2024. Prosecutors said the stolen vehicle crossed the Eads Bridge and fled an attempted Illinois State Police traffic stop. Shots struck the pursuing cruiser before the vehicle crashed and the occupants were captured.
Jones is serving a 73-month sentence. Richardson is scheduled for sentencing Nov. 17, while McLorn is scheduled for sentencing Jan. 20. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and Illinois State Police investigated the case.
