ST. LOUIS — A North St. Louis resident says packages were taken from several porches and Halloween pumpkins were stolen and smashed near West Florissant Avenue and Goodfellow Boulevard on Sunday evening.

The resident told VOTP News STL the activity occurred around 6 p.m. November 1 and submitted two surveillance recordings while urging neighbors to be aware of what happened.

According to the resident, multiple homes were affected by the alleged package thefts and pumpkin damage. The account has not been independently confirmed by law enforcement.

What the submitted footage shows

One recording shows the playback of a nighttime front-door security camera overlooking a residential street, including a white vehicle and activity near nearby homes. The second video shows someone recording another surveillance playback on a cellphone.

Resident-submitted doorbell-camera footage. The recording does not, by itself, establish that a theft occurred or identify anyone responsible.

VOTP News STL reviewed the submitted clips. Neither recording independently confirms the full extent of the reported package thefts or property damage. The identities, ages and involvement of any people visible in the footage have not been established.

Additional surveillance playback submitted by the resident. VOTP News STL has not independently verified the allegations.

Police confirmation still pending

It was not immediately clear whether a police report had been filed, whether any stolen property had been recovered or whether any arrests had been made. VOTP News STL has not received an official police account confirming the incidents.

Residents with relevant footage or information can contact the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The department lists 314-231-1212 for nonemergency calls. Anyone reporting theft or property damage should preserve original video recordings and any available documentation.
