A mother had barely been home for five minutes when her oldest daughter reportedly came rushing to tell her something no parent wants to hear: An unfamiliar man was inside their house.
What followed was recorded on video. Now, family friend Maya Patton is sharing the encounter on Facebook to warn others about how quickly an ordinary day can turn frightening.
Patton, who is not the woman confronting the man in the recording, said she posted the video on behalf of her friend to bring awareness to what the family experienced.
“Yalll!!!! I am posting on the behalf of my friend and to bring awareness!!” Patton wrote, urging readers to be aware of their surroundings.
According to Patton, her friend and one of her young daughters had just returned from a short errand. Less than five minutes after they arrived, the woman’s oldest daughter reportedly ran to alert her mother that a man was inside the home.
Patton said her friend’s daughter looked frightened. The mother reportedly grabbed a firearm and went to investigate, finding an unfamiliar man upstairs in a room used by her children.
The confrontation caught on video
Viewer discretion advised: The following video shows a woman holding what appears to be a firearm during a confrontation inside a home.
Video credit: Maya Patton/Facebook. Patton shared this footage publicly on behalf of her friend to bring awareness to the incident.
The footage shows a woman holding what appears to be a handgun while confronting a man seated on the floor against a bedroom wall. The video does not show how the man entered the home, how long he had been there or what happened before the recording began.
Patton’s account places the encounter in the children’s bedroom. The precise location and date of the confrontation have not been independently confirmed.
Booking information shared with the account
The man shown in the confrontation has been identified in the material provided to VOTP News STL as Xavier Calvillo, 31. The accompanying Dallas County booking information lists Calvillo as booked Nov. 1, 2026, on an alleged criminal trespass charge involving a habitation or another designated property.
The photograph and booking details were provided with the account of the same encounter. The supplied information identifies Calvillo as the man confronted in the recording. VOTP News STL has not obtained an official probable cause statement describing the circumstances of the alleged trespass, and the current status of the criminal case has not been confirmed.

The circulated material also references earlier arrests. Those claims have not been independently verified for this report and do not establish guilt.
A warning for other families
Patton said she shared the recording to bring awareness to her friend’s experience, not because she was the woman in the confrontation.
“ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings,” she wrote.
Her account describes a family returning home from a routine errand and, within minutes, discovering someone who was not supposed to be there. The recording captures part of the resulting encounter, but several circumstances remain unknown, including whether police responded and what happened afterward.
Families who suspect an intruder is inside should prioritize getting themselves and their children to a safe location and calling 911.
All criminal charges are allegations. Anyone accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest is not a conviction.
