FLORISSANT, Mo. — More than 30 local organizations will gather in North St. Louis County this month to connect residents with volunteer opportunities across the region.
The St. Louis County Library will host the North County Regional Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. at its Florissant Valley Branch, 195 New Florissant Road South.
The fair will bring together organizations seeking volunteers for programs that support youth, families, older residents and other community needs. Attendees can meet representatives directly, learn about their work and explore opportunities to get involved.
Participating organizations listed by the library include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bring Conservation Home, CASA of St. Louis, Eye Thrive, Great Rivers Greenway, JACCK Foundation for the Arts, Nurses for Newborns and Ready Readers.
The St. Louis Tax Assistance Program, St. Louis County Older Resident Programs (CORP) and United Way of Greater St. Louis are also among the announced participants. Additional organizations are expected.
Volunteer opportunities span a range of interests, from education and youth development to environmental conservation, family services and support for older adults. Residents who have considered volunteering but have not found the right fit can speak with several organizations during a single visit.
